This more accurate KITT Scanner upgrade replaces the round scanner provided in the Knight 2000 build. Features square openings, chrome paint where appropriate, and reuses the original provided mounting hardware. For a limited time this package includes a free yellow KARRR lens. This 3D print is made from UV resin, air brushed satin black, and sealed in a matte clear coat. Fit’s the K2000 build from Fanhome, DeAgostini, and Altaya 1:8 scale models.

"Larson" Scanner Upgrade
This much more accurate scanner housing with square openings replaces the scanner housing with round openings we received from China. This new scanner housing uses the same installation hardware you received with the original part, simply follow the same installation instructions for an easy install.
* Note, This scanner housing is designed to fit the factory supplied scanner led board from Fanhome. If you are using an aftermarket scanner replacement board (like Brickstuff's scanner) you'll want to purchase our aftermarket compatible scanner housing upgrade, instead.
Why is it called the "Larson" scanner? This style design was envisioned by Glen L. Larson back in the 70's for Battlestar Galactica for his Cylon robots. He liked the effect so much that he incorporated it into K.I.T.T.'s design. The "Larson" scanner name was first coined by evilmadscientist.com back in 2007.
Christian Witt hit's another homerun with his obsessive attention to detail and accuracy. This scanner comes to you airbrushed in Satin Black, followed by chrome paint already applied to the actual scanner housing making the light really stand out as it should. The scanner housing is then sealed with a matte gloss. The K.A.R.R. lens is flexible and is 3D printed in transparent yellow resin, sanded smooth, and sealed in a high gloss coat.
These parts are made from a custom UV resin formula consisting of SIRAYA Blu, SIRAYA Smokey Black ABS Like Resin, and SUNLU ABS Like Gray. My prints are designed to be able to have some flex on smaller parts, and ABS like strength on thick parts that can withstand a drop from a 4'-5' foot height, and not break or shatter on a hard surface. The transparent scanner lens is made from REPRAPPER standard resin and is more fragile then other parts. Handle with care when installing.
